I absolutely love life, I'm very optimistic, passionate about helping others & I have trouble dealing with negative people.
I love my kids & spent a lot of their younger years as a house husband. I'm so proud of them both, they're fantastic, grown up and one studying to be a embryologist and the other a rock star!
My taste in music is huge, in fact music, both playing and listening, is probably my biggest passion in my life after my kids.
I'm a semi pro musician that plays a range of instruments in a couple of different bands. My primary instrument is bass guitar and I play in a funk/soul/blues/dance and classic rock bands. I think music touches our primitive mind and emotions and can do things from making our foot self consciously tap to bringing out all kinds of memories & feelings that we felt in the past.
My other passion is the environment and I try to help improve it in my own small way. I have a PhD in renewable energy & I used to lecture in energy and enjoyed teaching school kids about their world and how they can do small things to improve it! I could always tell where my kids were in the house by following the trail of left on lights, so they listened!
I absolutely can’t stand the taste or smell of celery. I love food & will try anything & going to great restaurants is one of my joys in life. However, why use a vegetable that not only tastes terrible, but also used more calories eating it than is in it?!
I have a good sense of humour, love making people laugh and enjoy comedy from stand up, slapstick (love Laurel & Hardy) to weirder stuff like League of Gentlemen & the Mighty Boosh. I am a very modest man, but consider myself intelligent and can carry on meaningful conversations on quite a few subjects. I have a terrible short term memory, but a good one for remembering trivial rubbish! I'm very laid back, care about other people’s feelings & very romantic. When I’m with someone I like being spontaneous, organising surprises, sensual & playful! I also love stuff like walking on a beach at night, watching films, exploring new places and romantic breaks away, having romantic nights at home, cuddling, and basically having fun together!
