First thing, if you're not a dog person you probably wouldn't like me. Over the years I have rescued, adopted and cared for several dogs. I believe that dogs deserve a place with people and they look to us for safety and protection. I do what I can and wish I could do more but I know my limits. Currently I have 4 rescues in my house. The last two were taken in as fosters but found a way into my heart and are now part of my pack. I also have 2 cats, for the most part they all get along. My other hobbies include gardening. The past couple of years I haven't done as much in my garden as I wanted. I plan on changing it this year. I would love some help with the heavy lifting. I work hard. I'm an RN at the Washington Veterans Home (Retsil) and have been with WDVA more than 20 years. Although I am a real pacifist and don't believe in war, I do believe in caring for those who served. I strive for our elderly veterans receiving the best care possible. I am very liberal and open minded. I try not to judge others while recognizing that it is our nature to judge. I believe that all people deserve respect and dignity, even the ones I don't agree with. I have 2 grandchildren that live an hour or 2 away. My grandson just turned 4 and my granddaughter will be 4 in February. Being a grandma is way more fun than I thought it would be. I don't watch a lot of TV, but one of my favorites right now is The Walking Dead. I also follow a couple of cable series (Homeland, Dexter). My favorite music is blues but I listen to everything except 10 top, pop. I enjoy folk, love anything by Joni Mitchell, classic rock, soul music, old country (Willie, Waylon and the boys), New Orleans Jazz (Doctor John), a variety of sounds. I try to eat well and take care of myself. I avoid fast food and junk food. I eat a "real food" diet which is food I cook and I avoid processed and prepackaged stuff. I love having a vegetable garden and eating the food that I grow. I also enjoy wine, usually a glass or two of red most nights. A good affordable Pinot Noir is my favorite. My biggest vice (if you call it that) if using marijuana. I don't smoke per say, but use a vaporizer. It doesn't matter to me if someone else also smokes or partakes in some way. I just want to be upfront and honest about who I am. I don't follow much sports but I am an avid Seahawks fan. I get really excited when watching a game. I try to warn anyone around because I can't seem to control myself when the Hawks are doing great things. If you're still reading my profile, maybe we could talk.
